The fear of elevators/lifts is related to the fear of being trapped and is called Cleithrophobia It is also related to agoraphobia: Agoraphobia often develops after having one or more panic attacks.

It can lead to various fears, such as the fear of open spaces and the fear of places where escape is difficult, such as elevators. Agoraphobia can make it difficult for a person to leave their house. and claustrophobia: extreme or irrational fear of confined spaces.

It is estimated that around 11% of the population has some form of a phobia.

A phobia is an irrational fear. The emotional response can be so strong that it interferes with everyday life.

We are born with only two fears: falling and loud noises. Other fears and phobias are

generally learnt throughout our lifetime.

We can be subconsciously taught to fear something from the people around us or we can link a new fear in our own mind following a particular traumatic event (the initial sensitising event is often experienced before the age of 7).

Whether it is an extreme phobia you experience or an annoying fear that you would rather not have, hypnotherapy can help you eradicate those anxious emotional responses to your fears so that you can be set free of the irrational unwanted feelings.
